Does my file leave my computer?+
No. The PDF is opened, annotated and exported in your browser.
Can I use “Cover up” to redact confidential content?+
No. “Cover up” places an opaque box over the spot, but the text below stays in the file and can be copied out. That is fine for an old address on a printout; for confidential content it is not redaction.
Can the annotations be changed later?+
On export they become part of the page and look the same in every program. Change as much as you like before – undo is unlimited until you export.
Does it work with the keyboard?+
Yes. Every tool is a button; the item appears on the page and moves with the arrow keys, Delete removes it, Ctrl+Z undoes.
Does it work on a phone?+
Yes. The tools sit at the bottom, you move items with your finger, and two fingers zoom the page.
Can I highlight, underline and strike out text?+
Yes. Drag the box over the passage, like a highlighter pen. It works on scanned pages too.
What does it cost?+
Nothing. Tools that run in your browser are always free and need no account.

What “Annotate PDF” does
A typo in a finished PDF, a note for a colleague, a marked passage in a contract: with “Annotate PDF” you put text, highlights, checkmarks, crosses, rectangles, ellipses, lines, arrows and freehand strokes right on the page. You can add an image of your own too, such as a company stamp.
Cover-up is not redaction
“Cover up” places a white box over a spot, such as an old address. It is a visible cover: the text below stays in the file. It is not suitable for confidential content that nobody may read any more.
Part of the page
On export all annotations become part of the page. They look the same in every PDF program and cannot be hidden. With “Continue with”, the result goes to the next tool without uploading again, for example to sign it.
