Do my photos leave my device?+
No. The photos are straightened and put together as a PDF in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
When does automatic detection work best?+
When the whole sheet is in the picture and stands out from what it lies on – light paper on a darker table. If no edges are found, the whole photo is used and you drag the corners onto the sheet yourself.
Which colour mode should I use?+
Black and white for text: shadows disappear and the page reads clearly. Grayscale for pages with pictures or pencil, colour for stamps, highlights and coloured forms.
Does it work on a computer?+
Yes. Choose photos you already have; move the corners with the mouse or the arrow keys.
Is the text searchable?+
Not yet. The PDF holds the pages as images; text recognition is planned.
Do I need an app?+
No. Open this page in your phone's browser; “Open camera” starts the camera, and the photos become a PDF right here.
What does it cost?+
Nothing. Tools that run in your browser are always free and need no account.

What “Scan a document” does

Black and white evens out shadows and uneven light and makes text crisp. Grayscale keeps the in-between tones, colour keeps stamps and highlights. You choose the mode for each page.
