Frequently asked questions
Is my file uploaded?+
No. Splitting runs entirely in your browser. The file never leaves your device and we never see it. A working copy stays in this browser only and is removed after 7 days.
Is there a size or page limit?+
We set none. The limit is your device's memory; a 100-page, 60 MB PDF works on current phones. If a file is too large for your device, we tell you before anything goes wrong.
How do I type page ranges?+
As when printing: 1-3, 7, 9-12 gives three files. 9- means from page 9 to the end. A reversed range such as 7-3 is read in ascending order.
Can I put selected pages into one PDF?+
Yes. Choose “Pick pages”, tap the pages and set the output to “One PDF”. Shift+click selects a whole range.
What are the new files called?+
After the original, followed by the pages, for example Contract-p1-3.pdf. Several files come together in one ZIP file.
Does it cost anything?+
No. Tools that run in your browser are always free and need no account.
Does it work on a phone?+
Yes. Tap pages in the grid or type ranges with the keyboard. Several files come as a ZIP, which your phone opens in its Files app.

What “Split PDF” does
A long scan, a bundle of contracts, a hundred-page statement: often you need only part of it, or every page on its own. “Split PDF” breaks a document into several files or pulls out single pages. Before splitting you see which files you will get, and you can change your input at any time.

- Every n pages – for example a new file every 10 pages; the last one may be shorter.
- One file per page – every page as its own PDF.
- Pick pages – tap them in the page grid, then save them as one PDF or as separate files.
Private because it runs on your device
Splitting happens in your browser. There is no upload, no server that sees the pages and no waiting for a connection. You download the result directly. If you want to keep working – merge or sign, say – the next tool takes the result over without uploading it again.
