Frequently asked questions
Does the PDF look like it does in Word?+
Largely, yes: margins, tables, images, headers and footers carry over. Fonts that are not embedded are replaced by similar ones.
Do I need Microsoft Word for this?+
No. The conversion runs on our servers in the EU; all you need is a browser.
What does it cost?+
Twenty conversions a month are free, a hundred with an account. Beyond that, one operation per file from your credits. Failed conversions cost nothing.
How long is my document on the server?+
At most 60 minutes, at once with “Delete now”. The content is never stored permanently.
Do older DOC files work too?+
Yes. DOCX and the older DOC format are both converted, as are OpenDocument text (ODT) and RTF.
Can I sign the PDF afterwards?+
Yes. With “Continue with”, the result goes to “Sign PDF” without uploading again; the signing itself then runs in your browser.
Does it work on a phone?+
Yes. Choose the file from the Files app, your downloads folder or a cloud folder; the finished PDF lands in your downloads again.

Before you convert
The PDF shows the document the way Word prints it. So accept or reject any tracked changes first and delete comments the recipient should not see. If the document uses a special font, embed it when saving in Word; then the PDF looks exactly as it does on your screen.
